Thursday 11th and Friday 12th September, ETS Senior Instructor Mr. Earl Hernandez led two ETS exercises at the Ministry of Health Head Office Conference Room for the Port of Spain General Hospital and the St. James Medical Complex.
The simulations focused on the evacuation of critical areas (Accident and Emergency Department, Intensive Care Unit, Main Operating Theatre, and the Radiological Department, testing a range of protocols – including activation of each department’s evacuation plans and procedures.
This ETS Exercise was indeed a big step in strengthening disaster and emergency preparedness, response and surge capacity for Hospitals n the Caribbean region.
