About ETS
Emergo Train System (ETS) is an academic / educational simulation system used in several countries around the world for training and testing the preparedness and management of emergencies, major incidents and disasters.
The ETS Competence center in collaboration with Zentrum für angewandte Notfallwissenschaft GmbH (ZaNowi), are translating and customizing the ETS Hospital set and in-hospital patient banks to German. ZaNowi have a number of certified ETS Senior instructors and the German Hospital set is now tested in a number of exercises.
The content of the training includes strategies for the fastest possible return to normal operations in a crisis based on various aspects of the Hospital Alarm and Emergency Planning. The participants were able to experience the interdepartmental establishment of good leadership and communication structures, for example, in the event of an external trauma situation (mass casualty incident) or the evacuation of a ward as an internal emergency situation. The instructors succeeded in enabling the individual participants to transfer their knowledge in the sense of a "take home message" and to emphasize motivating team building through the joint practice of all the professional groups involved. The feedback from the participants was positive. The ETS thus has what it takes to make a significant contribution to the necessary optimization of training opportunities for critical infrastructure failure situations in the German healthcare system.
