Emergo Train System® (ETS) has been translated into 8 different languages and is used in over 20 different countries. In 2005, a new version of ETS (version 2) became available in Swedish, English and Dutch. This is the version described below.

ETS consists of magnetic symbols that are placed on whiteboards to illustrate a disaster scene, assembly point of a hospital. The core of ETS is a patient bank with over 300 injured patients divided into categories depending on each of their individual injury. The ETS Instructor in an exercise can chose patients suitable for the scenario one wishes to simulate. Besides the magnetic symbols, maps, different frames and models, and pictures are included in the material as a help to construct the simulation.
The Emergo Train System® version 2 differs from previous version in the respect that the patient-bank is updated and that version 2 allows patient outcome to be evaluated in a more structured way.

There has also been design and pedagogic improvements as well as adjustment to modern trauma management.
In the ETS manual several simulation exercises are included and ready to use. In making the ETS version 2, great importance was put upon making sure that the material was flexible and easy to use as well as creating new simulation exercises.
To purchase and use the ETS material it is required to be Senior Instructor. Senior Instructor Cources are held at the Centre for Disaster Medicine, Linköping.
