In the ETS, there is different kinds of symbols symbolising pre-hospital (for example police, rescue service, ambulance) and hospital staff. There are 14 different kind of pre-hospital staff and a total of 176 symbols in the Basic set.

The hospital staff consists of different doctor- and nurse specialities. The doctors are 15 different specialities and there are 4 nurse specialities. There is a total of 100 doctor symbols and 50 nurse symbols per Hospital set. All the symbols are customised to realistic colour and text. Below are examples of symbols in ETS version 2.
